The Question I Ask Every Client

Before I create any gut healing strategy, I always start with one simple question:

“What is your body actually asking for?”

It might sound obvious, but this is the piece most people- and most practitioners- miss.

When someone comes to me with bloating, constipation, or fatigue, the first thing they usually ask is: “How do I get rid of my symptoms?” But symptoms aren’t problems to be “gotten rid of.”

They’re signals.

They’re the body’s way of saying: “Something needs your attention.”

When you chase symptoms, you end up in a cycle of trial-and-error… the latest diet, the new supplement, the quick fix. Relief might come for a moment, but the root issue remains. That’s why so many people end up back at square one.

But when we stop and ask: “What is my body really asking for?” the answers get clearer.

Sometimes it’s asking for rest.

Sometimes it’s asking for motility support.

Sometimes it’s asking for nervous system repair, or for inflammation to be calmed before anything else will stick.

This is the magic of functional medicine: the strategy comes from listening. Your body already knows the way forward- it just needs you to stop overriding it and start honoring it.

The right question opens the right pathway.

Curious what your gut is asking for? This is exactly the discovery process I guide clients through in my SIBO VIP Day sessions. Apply HERE to start mapping the strategy your body has been asking for all along.
