Relationships can make or break a self-healing journey
Relationships + SIBO (watch short video here)
Relationships can make or break a self-healing journey. I have seen this in my personal life and in my practice. My clients who have a loving home life with a supportive spouse or partner, family members and friends in a tight community, almost always do better on their journey. They see more success in their self-healing. Those that are alone or have not-so-supportive relationship dynamics take longer.
Relationships totally affect your nervous system, whether you feel safe, loved, seen, appreciated, supported and cared for it… Sets the stage for self-healing.
Remember, when you are faced with relationship struggles or lack of a connection, you can be stuck in “fight or flight” in your body. This sends a message to your brain and gut (and vice versa) that you are NOT safe.
When you are in fight or flight, there’s no time or space to heal, rest, digest, produce calming neurotransmitters, to think clearly, or even digest & eliminate properly.
Feeling alone in your relationship may lead to further isolation, and feel as if you have to do everything on your own… and when you’re not feeling well, frankly, it may seem impossible to keep going most days.
Chronic SIBO and digestive issues can lead to isolation in itself. And we know that isolation can lead to chronic illness. It’s a double whammy.
Part of your whole body-mind-soul transformation is reevaluating your relationships… And letting go of the ones that are no longer in alignment with who you want to be.
It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it 🖤
